Kittitas Busted Mugshots and Booking
Kittitas County Jail, or KCJ, handles adult bookings and custody for the whole county. The Sheriff's Office runs it from Ellensburg. Two kinds of paperwork come into play once someone is booked in. The jail register gives the public a slim look at who is in custody. The booking file behind it can hold more, though Washington public-records law and confidentiality rules shape what anyone gets to see from it.
Don't expect pictures. The public KCJ roster is built as text tables, not a gallery, and its Details panel sticks to plain fields. Someone typing a phrase like "who got busted" hoping for a photo will come up empty here. A roster row can confirm a current or recent stay at the jail. For a releasable booking photo or a fuller record, the route runs through the Sheriff Records Division, which reviews each request and redacts as required.
Keep the numbers in perspective. They measure capacity and yearly activity at the facility. They are not a live roster count or a city arrest total. Charges listed at booking can shift later through amendment, reduction, or dismissal. For how a case actually ended up, the court record is the right place to look.
Kittitas Booking Record Fields
The KCJ roster splits into two tables: In custody and Recently released. A current row shows the person's name, age, city and state, local ID, arrest date, plus links for Details and VINE. Released rows swap the local ID for a release date. Open the Details view. There you gain sex, the offenses on file, total bail, and a custody status. Treat these as jail processing facts only. They are not a court case number or a final charge.
| Roster field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Local ID | A KCJ roster identifier for a current-custody row, not stated to be a court or DOC number. |
| Arrest date | The custody event date shown by the jail, not a filing or disposition date. |
| Offenses | Booking information in Details, subject to later court action. |
| Total bail | A listed amount that can change. KCJ asks callers to confirm it with the jail. |
| Released date | Departure from KCJ, not a dismissal or final result. |
| VINE | A custody-status notification link, not a photo or court-record link. |
What does "City & State" mean? It marks where the person lives, per the roster. It says nothing about where an arrest took place. For that, turn to a city police record, an incident number, or a court file.
Washington law backs this setup. Under RCW 70.48.100, the jail must keep a current public register, while broader records on confined people stay protected except where the law opens them. That legal line is why a searchable row is not the same as a complete booking dossier.
Kittitas Busted Booking Records
Need a specific KCJ booking record? Go through the Kittitas County Sheriff Records Division. A strong request names the person, offers an approximate arrest or booking date, and adds a local ID or case number when you have one. If you want a photo, write "releasable booking photograph, if any." That phrasing requests a record that exists without presuming the office must hand one over.
- Open the County Public Records Portal from the Sheriff Records page, or use the county’s written-request options.
- Identify the record sought with a name, approximate date, incident type, and any known agency or case number.
- Send a booking-photo request to KCSO, not to a city police department, when KCJ holds the custody record.
- Read the initial response and any clarification, estimate, production notice, or lawful exemption explanation.
- Use the court clerk for court copies rather than asking the Sheriff to change a court history.

KCSO aims to send an initial public-records response inside five business days. What arrives could be the records themselves, an acknowledgment, a cost estimate, a request for clarification, or a lawful denial. County Code chapter 2.55 sets no flat fee for a KCJ booking photo. Under that chapter, inspection, searching, redaction, and building an exemption index cost nothing, though copy and production charges may apply. Get an estimate first. Ask the records office before budgeting anything.
Note: A response window is not a promise that every record you asked for arrives inside it.
The official Records Division page spells out the county's request route. Any screenshot shown here points to that source. It does not replace filing an actual record-specific request.

When a roster entry leaves gaps, or an older booking has dropped off the public display, follow the record holder's published process to dig deeper.
Washington Busted Mugshot Rules
Washington never passed a pay-to-remove mugshot law. Removal questions instead get answered by other authorities: the open jail register in RCW 70.48.100, the Washington Public Records Act, the criminal-history rules in chapter 10.97 RCW, and sealing or vacation procedures run through the courts. The Public Records Act opens a door to nonexempt records. Even so, protections for law enforcement, victims, and witnesses can force an agency to withhold or redact material.
Nonconviction history that qualifies has its own path. Under RCW 10.97.060, deletion is conditional, with timing rules and exceptions, and it never promises that every published copy vanishes on its own. A judge, not a jail roster edit, decides whether a vacation or sealing order is granted. Current sealing and vacation forms come from Washington Courts, while juvenile records follow separate confidentiality and sealing rules of their own.
Sequence matters, and so does the source. Get the court order or status first. Then ask the original agency to fix its own record. Only after that, use a publisher's free removal procedure, and only if it actually covers a Kittitas County page. Mugshots.com's county page is unofficial and historical. Its policies belong to the publisher, not to Washington law, and they can never stand in for the Sheriff or the courts.
Skip the paid solicitors who promise results. A court order or a corrected source fixes that one source; it cannot guarantee every mirror copy dries up. Once an original page is gone or changed, Google's Refresh Outdated Content guidance offers a separate way to nudge search results, with its own limits.
The official Washington Courts forms page is what this image shows. Real relief depends on the statute, the court, and the facts of the case, not on a broad promise about one booking photo.

Note: Sealed juvenile matters stay confidential, so never use this process to obtain or publish any juvenile information.
Kittitas Busted Mugshot Lookup
Go to the official source that matches the custody question. For anyone currently held at the county jail, or released from it within the past three days, the KCJ roster is the first stop. It shows no booking photos. A missing name proves little, though. The person may never have been accepted at KCJ, may have passed beyond the three-day window, or may sit in a different custody system entirely.
- Review KCJ’s In custody table for a current county-jail question.
- Review Recently released for a release from KCJ during the stated prior-three-day window.
- Open Details for listed offenses, bail, and release status, while treating those as booking information.
- Use KCSO Records for a named booking file, report, correction request, or potentially releasable photo.
- Use a court record for a filed case and disposition, or WA DOC for current state-prison custody.
| Channel | Custody or record scope | Photo result | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| KCJ roster | Current KCJ custody and prior three-day KCJ releases | No public photo display | Browse and sort the official tables |
| KCSO Records | Sheriff-held booking and related records | Request a releasable photo, if any | County request process |
| Kittitas court/Odyssey | Filed cases and later court events | Not a booking-photo source | Case search and clerk copies |
| WA DOC search | Current state DOC custody | No photo promise from public search | Name or DOC number lookup |
| Mugshots.com county page | Unofficial historical county material | Not authoritative | Secondary only, verify elsewhere |
A Most Wanted listing is not a warrant check, either. For the safe official tip route, and the separate court path to confirm a known warrant, see the Sheriff's Most Wanted page.
Kittitas Busted Booking Roster
Think of the roster as a sortable table rather than a name-search box. Current rows carry name, age, city/state, local ID, arrest date, Details, and VINE. Rows for people recently released swap the local ID for a released date. You can sort by name or by arrest date in the display. Once a row is identified, the Details control is the natural next click.
| Roster area | Search method | What it answers |
|---|---|---|
| In custody | Browse or sort names and arrest dates, then select Details | Whether KCJ presently reports the person housed. |
| Recently released | Browse or sort, then select Details | Whether KCJ reports a release within the prior three days. |
| VINE | Open a listed person’s VINE link | Custody-status notification, not a historical record. |
KCJ publishes a persistence rule, not a refresh schedule. State law requires timely entry in the jail register, but the site promises no hourly, daily, or real-time updates. For a time-sensitive bail or custody question, call the jail at 509-962-7527. Bail is accepted at any hour. The office itself gives the most accurate individual bail amount.
The official KCJ roster screenshot shows the two text-based custody tables. It does not rehost any individual booking photograph.

A row on the current list is custody information, nothing more. A release row shows a departure from KCJ.
Recent Kittitas Busted Bookings
There is no separate official same-day, 24-hour, 48-hour, weekly, or downloadable KCSO booking feed. In practice, the county's official feed is the roster's two windows: In custody for people currently at KCJ, and Recently released for people housed there during the past three days. Neither window catches every arrest in the county. Neither serves as a permanent archive.
The Sheriff's Facebook news embed and county press releases are chosen public-information channels, not a full booking stream. A press item adds agency context, but it cannot replace the live custody view or a court's handling of a filed case. Want an earlier identified booking? Request it from KCSO. A filed case goes through the court. That chain keeps you from inventing a daily arrest log that does not exist.
Can a quick release vanish from the current list? It can. The Recently released view may show a KCJ release for its stated three-day span, though it is not a final case result and not a sign that the underlying record has disappeared.
Kittitas Bail Release Timing
The roster's detail view sometimes lists a bail total. Treat it as a hint, not the final word. The jail keeps its own numbers as authoritative, and they can shift. For the current figure, call KCJ directly at 509-962-7527. The jail takes bail payments around the clock. Accepting the money, though, is one thing. Predicting the release moment is another, and no listed figure makes that promise.
A "released" date on the roster means just one thing. The person left KCJ during the window shown. It says nothing about why, whether a case moved, or whether another agency now holds the person. Court records, not a roster line, set the next official case event. Keep bail, custody, and court questions in separate buckets. That habit pays off when time is tight.
Note: Call the jail's direct line for a live bail figure instead of trusting a web view that may lag behind reality.
Kittitas VINE Status Notices
Want real notice of a custody change? Kittitas offers VINE. It links straight from individual roster rows at KCJ. The Sheriff lays out four channels: phone, email, text, or TTY. Pick one and you'll get an alert whenever status changes for someone in the county system. VINE is not a photo search, a full roster history, or a court file. It does one job and does it well.
No official Sheriff jail-lookup app or booking-photo app exists here. The real channels are the web roster, the Sheriff's Facebook news embed, the county press-release archive, and VINE. Read social posts as announcements from the agency. Then confirm custody or a case result through the official record.
Kittitas Juvenile Record Boundaries
The KCJ roster lists no juvenile category. Washington law treats those files differently from adult records. Sealed juvenile cases, along with victim and protected data, sit outside what a public roster can show. RCW 13.50.260 requires agencies to keep sealed juvenile records confidential. In most cases an office will respond without confirming whether such a record even exists. That protection holds firm, and a roster search offers no path around it.
State law also shields certain law-enforcement material and the identities of victims and witnesses. So an office may narrow a request, redact parts of it, or withhold a record entirely when a statute applies. Name the specific booking or arrest record you want. Then let the agency decide what rules govern it. A gap on the public roster does not mean a protected record is available somewhere else.
Kittitas Court and DOC Records
Booking is one stage, not the whole picture. The Odyssey Portal handles Kittitas Superior Court searches, and the Washington Courts record guide points to the right court of record. For official Superior Court copies, go to the Kittitas County Clerk. Rules, statutes, or orders can restrict public files. KCJ itself sends court-date questions back to the court.
Someone serving a state sentence sits outside the KCJ roster entirely. The Washington State Department of Corrections Incarcerated Search needs a DOC number plus a first and last name. It returns selected details on current state custody. It is not a county booking roster and shows no public photo. For DOC records or photos, use the department's public-records route.
Federal custody has its own tools. The BOP locator covers federal prisons and shows no booking photos. The ICE Online Detainee Locator System has a similarly narrow scope. Neither one tells you anything about a Kittitas booking.
The WA DOC search form sits at its official source. Think of it as a later, state-custody check, not a stand-in for a county booking record.

Note: A booking, a filed charge, and a court outcome are three distinct stages, so treat them separately.
Kittitas Past Booking Records
KCJ publishes no photo-retention policy, and nothing says a record vanishes once the three-day roster display closes. Washington's law-enforcement retention schedule governs which record series survive, but it is a schedule, not an image archive. Want an older booking or a possible photo? Start with KCSO Records. Ask whether it holds a releasable record or can point to the retention series or transfer location.
The Washington State Archives Central Regional Branch in Ellensburg keeps select sheriff materials and older Superior Court files, though holdings vary by type. Archival research is exactly that: research. The State Digital Archives adds Kittitas Superior Court files from 2015 forward, within its own access limits.
Kittitas Busted Mugshots by City
Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and Kittitas each run their own police-record requests. Yet all three send documented adults to the same place: KCJ. None publishes an official city arrest roster or photo gallery. One incident can therefore leave a paper trail in two systems. A city record and a county booking record may take separate requests. The city pages draw that line. The county roster stays the shared custody source.
- Ellensburg Busted Mugshots explains EPD’s city-record request path and its KCJ confinement agreement.
- Cle Elum Busted Mugshots covers the shared Cle Elum–Roslyn department and its NextRequest records route.
- Kittitas Busted Mugshots identifies the City records form and KCJ booking connection.
Verify current custody with KCJ and follow any case through the court record.
