Information You Provide
Search Entries
A name, location, or similar term entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. We do not retain or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages
If a visitor sends a message or email, we keep the contact details and message needed to respond. That information is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, the service may receive standard technical information when a page is loaded.
- Internet Protocol address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- Referring website, if one was supplied.
- Date and time information.
Cookies
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the site and keep features working. Browser settings can limit or reject cookies, although some functions may respond differently when cookies are blocked.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports ordinary operation and improvement of the resource.
- Operate and maintain the site.
- Pass a search request to the selected partner service.
- Learn which pages and sources are useful.
- Diagnose and repair technical problems.
- Deliver advertising that may reflect general interests.
External Websites
Links can lead to jail rosters, police records pages, court portals, corrections resources, and outside search tools. Each destination has its own data practices, terms, and availability. The Washington Public Records Act, chapter 42.56 RCW, governs government access questions where it applies, but it does not replace an outside website's privacy policy.
Advertising partners may collect information across websites for their own advertising purposes. That activity occurs under the partner's systems and policy, not under this notice.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to limited service providers when needed for the functions below.
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law enforcement or government bodies when presented with a valid legal order.
Security Practices
We use reasonable measures intended to protect information, but no internet-connected system can be guaranteed fully secure. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive information through an unsecured channel unless the receiving office directs otherwise.
Visitors Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from people under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor supplied information, they may use the Contact Us page to request its removal.
Data Requests
Subject to applicable law and verification, visitors may ask about data held in connection with a message or submission.
- Request a copy of personal data held by us.
- Ask that inaccurate contact information be corrected.
- Request deletion of data when retention is not required.
- Ask to opt out of certain processing where that option is available.
Policy Changes
We may revise this notice as operations or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when it is posted with its updated effective date.
